On Sunday, May 10th, we went to the Dom Zwierzyniecki for the discovery day of the new branch of the Centrum Kultury Dworek Białoprądnicki!
It was a great opportunity to discover the place before the renovation works begin! Let’s just say the building is still very much “in its original state,” and it takes a little imagination to picture a cultural club inside… but with the sunlight coming through the windows and the view over the garden, it already feels much easier to imagine the future atmosphere of the place.
Before welcoming participants, we helped preparing the garden area for the event. The task that definitely took the most teamwork was… inflating the giant inflatable globe… But it was really the star of the day so it was worth it!
Soon after, the first participants arrived and joined our activity. Their challenge was to guess the countries we come from (Greece, Spain, Portugal, Romania, and France) by recognizing the silhouettes of the countries on a map, and then matching different words connected to our cultures. If we say olives, feta, and the Parthenon… which country comes to your mind?
It was such a lovely experience to exchange with the local community and talk together about our different cultures, traditions, and associations! After our activity, participants also took part in a guided walk around Zwierzyniec, discovering more about the neighborhood and its history.
To conclude, we truly enjoyed spending this morning together and meeting the local community. We are already looking forward to seeing what this place will look like once the renovation works are completed!
PS: Ok maybe I lied and the globe wasn’t the star of the day…
