Hey!! It’s Guilherme here.
I know… it probably feels like I haven’t been here since the introduction text, but honestly, writing is not really my main way of communicating. So if you’re curious to see what I have been doing, you can check my klub’s Instagram: @klubkulturymydlniki.
Anyway, today I’m here to tell you about my exhibition “Inspirae”, created in collaboration with Aroa, but first, some context:
In my work at the auditorium, the club usually hosts exhibitions from different artists throughout the year. But in February, the walls were empty. So Ewa, my coordinator, suggested that I could exhibit something there. That’s when the idea came up: why not create our own paintings? Around that time, Aroa had a lighter schedule in her club, so it felt like the perfect moment to collaborate.
We started by observing the space carefully, measuring walls, imagining compositions, and we had five walls to fill:
- the first with a composition of four paintings,
- the second with one large canvas,
- the third with three canvases in different sizes,
- the fourth with three medium-sized works,
- and the fifth with three large canvases.
The idea was to explore different acrylic and tempera techniques and experiment with color combinations. In one series, we used strong tones like blue and green contrasted with their complementary color, orange. In another, softer tones appeared, yellow as a background for purple and green’s bubbles effects.
The third composition, my favorite to create, was an exploration of blue tones where we let gravity take control. Instead of trying to dominate the paint, we allowed it to move freely, and also using the hairdryer to help the tint move in the canva.
In the end, we used more sponges than brushes, and more “trust the process” than “this is the right way to do it.”

Creating Inspirae reminded me that growth often happens in experimentation — in collaboration, in vulnerability, in allowing space for mistakes.

Doing this with Aroa was important. It strengthened our connection, broke routine, and reminded me that this project is not just about activities, but also it’s about people.
So if you are a future volunteer reading this, I really encourage you: collaborate. Create together. Step out of your comfort zone.
Good luck 😊
