Hello guys, my name is Leo(nard) and I come from Kassel in Germany, I am the current volunteer in the Culture Centre „Dworek Białoprądnicki” in the integrART project 20/21.
In this project I learned a lot about myself as same as about the work at a culture institution, as a European Volunteer in our project you can implement your own ideas, and you have a lot of freedom for your creativity, due to my stay in Kraków I met a lot of international people and it’s interesting to talk about differences between your own culture and values.
At my institution I conduct a German Conversation with polish people, I have a social media cycle “foxdevilswild” where I explain German idioms and their meaning, I created YouTube videos about cooking, Christmas, and volunteering, and a live presentation about stickers in street art, broadcasted on Facebook.
On the other hand I also support the work, I helped at art exhibitions, assisted at live events in person and online too, was a helping hand at art installations. I helped at various events and had the chance to learn a lot more about the work.
When it comes to Kraków itself it’s a very international and open city with many cozy places, fancy bars (without Covid at least), and delicious restaurants. I can feel the positive vibe of the city, which is also reflected in the people living here.
Doesn’t matter if you want to go for a nice walk near the river (Wisła) or eat Zapiekanki (traditional polish bread with mushrooms and cheese) in the Jewish district “Kazimierz”, you will have a great time in Kraków.
Cześć
